Ramadan is a time to conquer the soul and attain victory through taqwa. This year, our masjid and community are committed to guiding individuals and families on a transformative journey. Through our diverse programs, we will reflect on our challenges, renew our purpose, and rebuild with a clear path toward personal and spiritual growth.
Sadaqah al-Fitr is a mandatory charity given before Eid al-Fitr to purify the fast and help the poor celebrate Eid. It is obligatory on every Muslim who possesses wealth above basic needs. The required amount is 1.75 kg of wheat/flour or 3.5 kg of barley, dates, or raisins, or their equivalent value. It must be paid before the Eid prayer. The primary recipients are the poor and needy. Paying it on time fulfills its purpose of purifying the fast and spreading joy among the less fortunate. Consult local scholars for specific rulings.
